Sunscreen

The sun comes out alot here. Some mornings it is overcast but it has never remained overcast for more than an hour at a time since we've arrived. It's really quite awesome. This is not the case for people like Nathalie, who do not enjoy getting into hot cars, with their scorching interiors and leather seats.

Apparently this is a common issue here... or common enough that the Australians have realized, at some point, that erecting parasols for cars is a viable option. And indeed, that is exactly what they've done. The photo below is from a shopping centre in Osborne Park, about 20 minutes by car from our place. It's like Quartier Dix30, but with a really busy boulevard separating the two sides of the street. Very Western civilization and all of that.

But the part that I was impressed with were the giant umbrellas for cars in the parking lots. So I wanted to share.

  1. J'ai été impressionnée par les paniers d'épicerie tenant tout seul sur les tapis mobiles aimantés!
